After emailing back and forth about the articles the authors
had wrote, they decided it would be in their best interest to meet up at a
local café for brunch. Once seated, they ordered a simple breakfast and hot tea
to go with it. After receiving their meal, they started to discuss how their
articles related and how they differed. Chaudhry would mention that women’s
movement “has freed men from straightjacket of traditional machismo and others
blamed it from depriving their identity” (Chaudhry 4). Archbold would take a
sip of his tea while nodding his head in agreement. He would then proceed to
relate his article to Chaudhry’s by saying that “40’ years of women’s
liberation has succeeded only in turning women into a commodity” (Archbold 1).
The two authors would both agree that women’s rights had drastically changed
the characters and life style of women and men over a period of time. As the
discussion continued, they both decided to order a delicious pastry for
dessert. Their conversation would continue to be a pleasant exchange since the articles
that they both composed related in a major way. Another topic that both Archbold
and Chaudhry would agree on, is that gender roles have shifted a lot over the
past century. Gender is prerogative not performed. They would also say that gender
is how you act in the word. In the past, men had the image of being a “family
man.” Today, this role has shifted. After finishing up their long discussion
about their articles, it was officially time for Archbold and Chaudhry to receive
the check.
